I wanted to say Happy Earth Day! So enjoy it, just dont forget to reduce reuse and recycle. Actually there are some stores here in the US that are giving freebies for recycling. I dont know which stores but just search in Google “earthday freebies in x” x= your location. I hope you enjoy your day and dont forget to reuse/recycle your electronics.
If you have any questions or comments please contact me @worldtechguru in twitter.
A new chat here on WorldTechGuru will come soon. It will allow people to communicate through chat and people willl be able to share ideas, news and funny moments. As long it’s appropriate, you may talk about anything.
In the meantime kick back and relax and of course watch the development of WorldTechGuru. We are currently getting mediators and are working to flatten out technical difficulties.
Have a great day.

Like I have mentioned before there are few people here in Oregon that are actually geeks. Oregon likes to be “Green” Now HOLD IT RIGHT THERE…! So if our state is supposed to be green then why aren’t there many geeks? I do find it interesting because being a geek also includes the factor of conserving and being “green”. Going paperless is “green”, Using notepad on your computer or Evernote on your Android instead of tearing that paper off of your little “pad” that sits in your purse with you everywhere means you’re going green. So why is it Oregon is against technology? Why are the schools still…..still… using paper? I find this very interesting.
What is it like in your area?
Where is the greenest city? I wanna move there!
Electronics are only “non green” if people don’t follow the proper recycling procedures. If everyone followed the 3 forms of recycling then why is it a problem?
If the world was completely on renewable energy there would be less pollution, and of course people wouldn’t need to worry about their energy consumption affecting the world.Think about it…Use the electronics you want, quit using paper and writing utensils, use hybrid vehicles, and use their technology to run their life instead of using products like paper that kills the earth.
There would be very little problems.
Just remember that technology is the key to success and make sure it’s used wisely. Have an old computer? Send it in to the plant!

Believe it or not WorldTechGuru is still under construction and I will keep you updated on new features, more information, and current tech news.
I don’t know which brand of computers you prefer. I would go with a Dell or HP if I were purchasing a new computer. They are always reliable, I’ve used them the most, and haven’t had very many trouble/problems with those brands as I’ve seen in other brands like Acer.
I’ve never owned an IBM computer but have always been interested.
Maybe my next laptop will be an IBM, or maybe my next desktop?
I will have a poll on the right side of the blog (shortly) and you chose your favorite!I know that there are much more other brands than these on the right but I thought I would list “the top” I don’t know. Is the top brands different for everyone?

Have you ever thought what Apple would be like without Steve Jobs?
I had found out in January that Steve Jobs (APPLE CEO) was diagnosed a few years back with pancreatic cancer (Cancer that affects the Pancreas). I was told that he may have only 9 weeks to live. Well it’s barely past that but at the same time I was thinking to myself “wow he has done so much work, and for it all to be gone just because of cancer”.
So the question is… What will happen to Apple’s fate without Steve Jobs? Will Apple continue to succeed? or will they fall? As much as my friends think I hate Apple, yeah sure I don’t like Apple that much and I’m not the biggest fan. I of course still hope for the best of his company. And hey maybe he will be cured and live another 30 or 40 years.
I used to own a mac, I liked it.. Got tired of it and I think I still have it laying around somewhere lol. I think that even if Steve dies Apple will still continue and always try to do their best. I mean I can’t imagine a company that massive failing because of one person. It’s possible, but no likely.
Steve is currently on sick leave and we don’t know when he’ll return.

Have you ever heard of Linux?
Most people haven’t, even some geeks haven’t.
Seems like whenever I talk about Linux operating systems with people theya re always like “…What’s that…?” I always say “It’s another operating system like Windows” they either say “oh ok” or they’ll say “what’s an operating system”
In this blog post I will talk about what Linux is, What an Operating System is and the top Linux distributions.
Linux is an operating system that runs on a PC or in some cases a Mac. It was one of the first operating systems just as Windows and Mac was. It is based from Unix and is one of the most reliable and virus-free operating systems.
An operating system (also abbreviated as OS) is The software that supports a computer’s basic functions. Such as scheduling tasks, executing applications, and more! Basically an operating system is the software that runs all the hardware on a computer.
There are many distributions for Linux. The most common ones are Ubuntu, Linux MInt, and SUSE.
Ubuntu has always been the distro I have always liked. I really like Linux Mint though. I don’t however like SUSE that much. For some reason SUSE didn’t seem that stable and the GUI (Graphical User Interface) didn’t click that well with me, it seemed really cheesy almost like it was meant for kids.
Ubuntu is a lot like mac where LM and SUSE is a lot like Windows.
Want to try it?

I always here my friends talk about the word “Limewire” and for some reason it just scares me. I think of illegal and I think of getting fined lots of money.
I repair computers all the time and for some reason about a third of the computers I repair contain an application called “Limewire”. Limewire is an application that runs on a computer and it allows the user to download music (illegally of course). I have to admit I tried it for a while but got tired of it killing my windows operating system. Of course it would do this because it would installed viruses on my computer. I didn’t know why at the time but just thought it was some problem with the Antivirus program I was using.
All of a sudden I open the application and it won’t work and I cannot download, I go to their website for support and find this box in the middle of the window and is says:
